I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Alabama. I attended Emmanuel College where I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I then attended the University of Alabama, Birmingham where I received my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and the geriatric population. I have extensive knowledge in the areas of grief/bereavement and substance abuse issues. I have years of experience working with clients who have interpersonal relationship issues, self-esteem issues, anxiety and depression. Further, I have expertise working with clients who have a history of trauma and co-occurring disorders.
I am committed to providing support, guidance and empathy as my clients explore and resolve the roots of their concerns. I use an integrated therapeutic approach of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and person centered modalities. I believe that each of my clients has the capacity to grow, and I collaborate with them in the healing process. It is through the support and safety of the therapeutic relationship that my clients feel empowered to make necessary changes that can improve the quality of their life and ease the burdens that they carry. I know that seeking therapy can be an intimidating experience, I am here to help and guide you in the process.
